Improving Our Village Environment
The Blackheath Village Society has completed the following work and is looking to carry out some further improvements in the near future.
Crime Prevention Measures:
We have installed CCTV warning signs under all of the village signs to complement the various security cameras located at properties throughout the village. If you see anything suspicious and have it on film, please report it directly to the Blackheath Village Society and we will circulate the information to residents including our Police Community Support Officer.
Village Signs:
The wooden uprights have now been secured with concrete posts, as a number of them were rotting at the base, which will ensure the longevity of the signs. All of the oak signs have been cleaned by a working party and are restored (as much as possible) to their original condition.
Traffic Calming Posts:
The BVS has obtained a quotation to supply and erect 14 new timber bollards, which will be located in Littleford Lane, Sampleoak Lane, and Blackheath Lane and set in concrete. These will replace the damaged and missing bollards in the village and we are presently looking at funding the cost, with the assistance of Wonersh Parish Council.
