7.30pm for 8.00pm at Blackheath Village Hall, Blackheath, Guildford, GU4 8RA A Lecture by Olive Maggs and display of copper work by Charles Gillespie Established in Newlyn, Cornwall in 1890 the Newlyn Industrial Class had an important role in the social and artistic development of the local community. The class produced hand beaten copper work from the 1890s and continued into the twentieth century. ‘Newlyn Copper’ was useful and beautiful and is now recognised as representing a unique and important part of the history of the British Arts and Crafts.

Our new Countryside Ranger, Lucie Poole is hoping to attract new volunteers and build our positive impact conserving the heathland with a number of scrub clearance working parties. This involved removing scotts pine and silver birch to maintain the heathland in a suitable condition for the specialized wildlife found here. Meeting place: 10:00 at the Littleford Lane car park on the following dates:
